When I set the goal of becoming a community college president in the late 1990s, I simultaneously began to explore Northwest College. The qualities that attracted me to Northwest are probably the same ones that appeal to you.
Now that you’ve stepped inside our front door, it won't take long for you to see why Northwest College is so special. Since becoming Northwest’s President in 2013, I’ve been extremely impressed by how hard our employees work to bring excellence to this college. Indeed, we're far more than a typical two-year college—consider the following points as evidence of that claim.
Program breadth: A wide variety of courses supports 48 transfer degrees, 16 technical degrees and 18 certificates. And with Northwest's low tuition, there's no need to feel guilty about exploring before committing to a major.
Strong faculty: Students get to know our superb faculty on a first-name basis. Even though they're often called on as experts in their fields, our faculty’s focus is on our students.
Rich learning opportunities: Learning awaits our students in and outside the classroom, including academic activities like Livestock Judging and Forensics as well as annual international travel opportunities.
Activities: An array of student activities includes intercollegiate athletics, intramural sports, clubs and organizations, student government and more. If you’re on an athletic team, there's a good chance your family and friends can watch via live Webcasts produced by NWC students.
Learn where Northwest is headed by visiting Vision 2020 which guides the campus community and our decisions about how human and financial resources are used to achieve our strategic goals.
Our virtual walking tour would be a great place to start your Northwest College exploration. If you’re a prospective student who likes what you see, I encourage you to call, email or create an account to request more information. But the very best way to get to know us is to visit the campus.
Our door is always open! NWC's tagline says it all: "Your future, our focus."
