Two rodeos spanning four days in Havre, Montana, saw strong individual results but low team placement for the Trapper rodeo teams as the second of three fall rodeo weekends wrapped up.
The first Montana State University-Northern rodeo had the cowboys finishing fourth as a team with 245 points, while the cowgirls finished fifth with 35 points.
Jordan Cust was the highest individual placer for Northwest, finishing second in saddle bronc.
Christopher Staley was the next highest finisher, finishing fourth in bull riding.
Two Trappers, Kaydin Small and Jayson Carl, finished in a tie for fifth place in tie down roping.
Weston LaPierre finished fifth in the steer wrestling and Dylan Young was the final placer for the Trapper men in seventh for the
saddle bronc.
Alexis Delzer was the lone placer for the women, finishing in a tie for sixth in goat tying.
In the second rodeo the Trapper men ended up fourth with 210 points while the women did not record a team score.
Cust once again placed second in the saddle bronc, this time just ahead of Young who rose up to third for the second rodeo.
Zane Young had a strong day in the bull riding, earning a second place finish.
The duo of Caden Gines and Carl ended up in third place in the team roping.
The overall difficult second weekend saw the Trappers fall behind the pack, having 1,261 points in the Big Sky standings just behind MSU-Northern, but well behind MSU and the University of Montana-Western who both have more than 2,400 points.
Individual standings show Cust and Dylan Young in the top four of saddle bronc, while Zane Young sits in a tie for third in bull riding.
Northwest will head back into Montana this weekend, making the trip to Dillon to take part in the University of Montana-Western rodeo on Friday and Saturday.
