English Department Advising Day Breakfast

Tuesday, November 6, 2018
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Northwest College
Orendorff Building
ORB 120

All students interested in spring English courses are invited to eat breakfast with the English department from 9-10 a.m. on Advising Day, November 6th, in ORB 120. Breakfast will include eggs, bacon, and coffee.

Current majors as well as other students interested in taking English courses should attend. This is an opportunity to meet fellow English majors, get to know faculty, and learn about spring course offerings. We'll also discuss the process for declaring English as your major or double-majoring in English.

Top 3 reasons to take an English course this spring:

  • Reason #1: English and philosophy are "tech's hottest ticket"? It's true.
  • Reason #2: 93% of business leaders said that "a demonstrated capacity to think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems" was more important that a job candidate's major." It's true.
  • Reason #3: Great faculty and interesting classes, like:
    • Creative Writing: Fiction
    • Science and Literature
    • Introduction to Film
    • Writing for Public Forums
