Does your child ever wonder what kind of rock they found?

What if they could answer their own question?

They can start to learn how to identify some of the common rocks of the Bighorn Basin at a free kids workshop to be held during the 2024 Wyoming State Mineral and Gem Show that is being held this year in Powell Wyoming

The workshop is not a lecture but hands-on training on how to recognize different rocks and minerals by observing and sometimes doing simple tests. They will be handling real specimens.

Because it is hands-on, space is limited to 20 kids per session. There will be 2 sessions: one at 10 AM and the next at 11 AM. Each session will last 45-50 minutes.

You can secure space for your child by registering at the Powell Valley Community Education website: https://www.nwc.edu/learning/community/
