A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a health professional that offers support to physicians by performing clinical and administrative duties. The demand for these professionals is growing in the healthcare setting.
The Certified Medical Assistant Program will prepare students for work in clinics, physicians' offices, nursing homes, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.
Taught in a hybrid format, this course combines classroom/lab sessions with an online platform of instruction.
Students in the CMA program will learn:
• The Medical Assistant Profession and Health Professions
• Patient Interaction
• Medical Ethics and Law
• Clinical Procedures
• First Aid & Safety/CPR/AED
• Assisting with the Physical Examination
• Medication Administration
• EKG (Electrocardiogram Testing)
• Patient Education
• Emergency Care
