An Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course is a foundational training program that teaches individuals to provide immediate, life-saving care before higher-level medical personnel—such as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) or paramedics—arrive on scene.
Course Overview
- What you learn: Essential medical skills including CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) use, airway management, bleeding control, spinal immobilization, and basic patient assessment.
- Time commitment: Typically ranges from 40 to 60 hours, making it accessible for people with busy schedules.
- Certification: Upon successful completion, students earn an EMR certification (often through organizations like the American Red Cross or state EMS agencies).
Who It Benefits
- First Responders & Public Safety: Firefighters, police officers, and security personnel who are frequently first on the scene of an accident.
- Workplace Safety & Industry: Construction workers, industrial employees, manufacturing staff, and corporate safety teams operating in remote or high-risk environments.
- Community Members & Caregivers: Teachers, coaches, outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and parents who want to be prepared for sudden medical emergencies or accidents at home, school, or on the trail.
- Aspiring Healthcare Professionals: Individuals looking to step into the medical field as a stepping stone toward becoming an EMT, paramedic, nurse, or physician.
Course cost is $475.00 - Students will also have to pay for a background check and testing fees
