POWELL, WYOMING – A new art exhibit, titled "Women in Abstraction” opens in the Northwest Gallery on the campus of Northwest College Tuesday, October 14, featuring the work of seven artists from Wyoming and Montana. An opening reception is scheduled for that evening from 4 to 6 p.m., and the exhibit will remain on display through November 14. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there is no charge for admission.

Brought together by Stephanie Rose, the invitational exhibition aims to shine a light on artists working in abstraction across a variety of mediums. Rose will also be one of the seven participants and is a former Northwest College student who holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Oberlin College, and M.S. in Land Resources from the University of Wisconsin.

Rose has previously exhibited at the Brinton Museum, the Wyoming State Capitol and Turner Fine Art. Other participating artists include Joan Sowada, Miga Rossetti, Mona Monroe, Pamela Gibson, Sara Mast, and Wendy Bredehoft.
