POWELL, WYOMING – The numbers are in for Northwest College’s sixth annual Giving Day, and the 24-hour fundraising blitz brought in more than $189,000 from 318 individual donors. That included more than $36,000 for the new Affordability Grants, created to provide critical support to low- and moderate-income students.

The event also saw over $68,000 raised for merit and participation scholarships, $35,000 for athletic scholarships, $16,000 for career and technical education scholarships, and more than $27,000 for various campus projects. Among them were the NWC Photographic Communications program, forensics, the NWC Alumni Association, the livestock judging team, and the EMS, nursing, and education programs.

This year’s Giving Day featured a Student Senate sponsored scavenger hunt for current NWC students in which they were able to fund the project of their choice after discovering tokens hidden throughout the Student Center. Supporters were also encouraged to take advantage of new bonuses throughout the 24-hour period, such as a $326 bonus for each of the first gifts received at 3:26 p.m. and 3:26 a.m.

“Our donors continue to amaze with their generosity in support of this annual campaign. Thank you to the alumni, community and staff who made this year’s Giving Day a true success!” said Cory Ostermiller, Development Manager for the NWC Foundation & Alumni.

Giving Day was a collaborative effort between the NWC Foundation & Alumni and many academic and program areas across the entire campus. Alumni and friends were engaged through printed mail pieces, social media posts, videos, emails, and the Giving Day website.
