Northwest College

Social Media

Our social media is one of the many ways we express ourself digitally. For Northwest College, social media is a way to showcase our achievements, promote upcoming events, highlight our programs, and communicate additional important information. Currently, NWC has a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Although each platform falls under the blanket of social media, we have a strategy that continues to evolve for each individual network. If you have content you’d like posted to NWC’s social accounts, contact Communications & Marketing at social@nwc.edu.

Some things, however, are automatically posted to NWC’s social media. For instance, nearly all of the student emails are posted as an announcement to the website and are then posted to Twitter. Additionally, entries on the Calendar of Events are also posted to Twitter.

Branded Hashtags

When it comes to social networking, hashtags are used to draw attention, to organize, and to promote. They make it easier for people to find, follow, and contribute to a conversation. For NWC, they allow us to curate a story across our social platforms. As you're creating content—either on your personal social media profiles or NWC-affiliated pages—consider using hashtags as appropriate to help contribute to the story.

  • #NWCwyoming - nearly any content that is positive and NWC related
  • #TrapperPride - content that's typically related to athletics or student activities
  • #OnceATrapper - content related to alumni and nostalgia associated with attended Northwest College
  • #WeAreParkCounty - used when members of the NWC community are out and about in Park County participating in service projects, activities, etc.
  • #WeAreNWC - used on student, faculty, and alumni features
