Sociology Program

Home

Sociology seeks to understand the social and cultural dimensions of life and to explain human behavior.  Sociology contributes to a better informed citizenry, qualifies students for a variety of occupations, and provides excellent preparation for advanced studies in law, medicine, theology, social work, business, criminal justice, and other fields.

Social Work

If you are interested in pursuing studies in Social Work at Northwest College you will be housed in the Sociology Department.  The Associate of Arts Degree with a specialization in Sociology was designed with flexibility in mind to accommodate a broad range of student interests in Sociology and Social Work.

For example a Social Work student might select these courses:

    • Introduction to Social Work
    • Marriage and Family
    • Relationship Violence

See the Courses page for course descriptions.
