Northwest College reminds area residents that they may provide comments in preparation for a September evaluation by its regional accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

NWC will host an evaluation visit Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 11-12, 2017, by a team representing the HLC. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet the HLC’s criteria for accreditation.

“We have worked hard to prepare and are very much looking forward to this visit,” NWC President Stefani Hicswa said. “It is an opportunity to learn about our performance as an institution and have conversations about ways we can continuously improve operations to continue to meet the needs of our students.

“The college has been accredited by the HLC since 1964, and we expect that to continue after this visit.”

The college’s Assurance Argument, a document and evidence files that demonstrate NWC meets criteria for reaccreditation, is nearing completion and will be available to the public late this summer.

Comments regarding Northwest College should be sent to Public Comment on Northwest College, Higher Learning Commission, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Illinois, 60604-1411. Comments may also be submitted on HLC’s website at www.hlcommission.org/comment.

According to HLC guidelines, comments must address “substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs” and must be in writing.
