NWC Forensics Team notches another victory in Colorado Springs

POWELL, Wyo. - The Northwest College Forensics Team kept its winning streak going, scoring another championship at the Al Johnson Invitational Oct. 25-27 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The NWC speakers nabbed the winner’s trophy at all three competitions they traveled to this semester. In addition to finishing first among community colleges in Colorado, the team also took second overall among all colleges.

Big Horn Basin students placing at the tournament include Madison George of Cody who took sixth in poetry and fourth in duet; Matt Dillon of Greybull who earned fourth in drama, second in prose and third in duet; and Sean Meyers of Powell who brought home the sixth place novice parliamentary debate speaker award, third in poetry and second in drama.

The Trapper orators will finish the semester at home Nov. 8-9 hosting the Trapper Rendezvous. Anyone interested in hearing these award-winning NWC students and speakers from other colleges is invited to help judge the tournament. For information, email or call Bob Becker, 307-754-6118.
