POWELL, Wyo. - “Tips and Tactics to Increase Customer Traffic Today” is the title of a one-hour live Internet webinar held at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at the Northwest College Center for Training and Development in Powell.

The free program is followed by a half-hour question-and-answer session.

The webinar features internationally known marketing consultant Jon Schallert who will be speaking live to local business owners from his studio in Longmont, Colo. Participants will be able to see, hear and ask questions of Schallert and to network with other business owners.

“In today’s economy,” Schallert said, “the challenge for any business, regardless of its location and demographics, is to create such a compelling offering that it is repeatedly visited by consumers. It is not necessarily more difficult for smaller mom and pop businesses to compete in this economic recession if they know how to stand out from their competition as destinations.”

Schallert has worked with independent business owners since 1983 and contributes his business strategies to national publications like the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Entrepreneur Magazine. He is a member of the National Speakers Association, National Main Street Network and International Downtown Association.

His webinar is sponsored locally by the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce and the NWC Center for Training and Development in an effort to help local businesses during the downturned economy.
