POWELL, WYOMING – An informational meeting for the annual Northwest College Photographic Communications trip is scheduled for Thursday September 17 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 70 of the Fagerberg Building on the NWC campus. This year’s trip takes place May 17-26, 2027, and will take participants to Ireland. Diego Kraidelman, owner of the tour company organizing the trip, Eco Uruguay, will be present to answer any questions about the travel itinerary and accommodations.
Highlights of this year’s photo experience in Ireland include traveling the trail of William Butler Yeats through Dublin, Galway, Sligo, and Donegal. Included in the tour’s itinerary are visits to the Book of Kells at Trinity College, Temple Bar, Kilkenny Castle, Rock of Cashel, Galway area and the Cliffs of Moher, Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery, Donegal Castle, and much more.
Interested individuals need to register for the NWC Photo Field Studies class at the beginning of the spring 2027 semester. The class begins in January and includes two sections. Both sections will include pre-trip meetings (times TBA) to prepare everyone for the trip experience. The class is being taught by Dr. Christine Garceau, Associate Professor of Photography.
The 3-credit section includes printing, matting, and framing for the photographic exhibit that will take place in September of 2027 on the NWC campus.
The 2-credit section does not include the extra course fee added to the class tuition, as there is no inclusion in the post-trip photo exhibit.
In addition to the course fee, which will depend on which class section participants sign up for, the tour fee of $4,400 includes airfare from either Billings or Cody (TBD), all ground transport, hotel accommodations, and two meals a day. Diego Kraidelman will review trip deposit deadlines and several available payment plans during his visit on September 17.
