P O W E L L, W y o. - There's still time to squeeze in two more computer trainings before the holidays start. The Northwest College Worland Center for Training and Development offers Fast Track Friday workshops on Word and Excel in early December.

Fast Track Fridays run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on one day covering the same information usually given in classes that meet for three hours on two evenings. It's an intense and comprehensive way to move quickly through the functions of a computer application.

Fast Track Friday - Word is offered Friday, Dec. 1. Excel gets the same Fast Track Friday treatment the week after on Dec. 8.

The Word class introduces the tools needed to create, edit, print and save a Word document. Starting with the basics, students first learn to use toolbars, fonts, margins, tabs, bullets, cut, copy and paste commands. They'll advance to inserting graphics and symbols, tables, using a template and creating headers and footers.

Students in the Excel workshop start by exploring and navigating Excel and using the toolbars. In addition to learning how to create a worksheet and enter formulas into cells, they'll also add charts to a worksheet and use Excel's many formatting features. Saving and printing documents are covered as well.

The cost is $60 per person for each session, which includes a comprehensive manual.
