*This event has been cancelled due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns in our community.

A sister event to Paint the Town Red, Northwest College is hosting the first Paint the Campus Red event Friday, March 27, from 4-7 p.m. on the Powell campus.

Complete with a variety of fun activities scheduled throughout the afternoon, Powell residents of all ages are invited to spend a couple of hours on campus and learn about all NWC has to offer.

Those who attend will have the opportunity to enjoy free food provided by Sodexo, take personalized campus tours, learn through interactive displays, visit with NWC employees at several different booths, hear live music and partake in family activities such as laser tag and games with student athletes.

Additionally, a highlight of the afternoon includes the faculty showcase in the Yellowstone Building Conference Center. NWC faculty members from different academic areas will showcase their evidence-based teaching strategies that encourage student learning in the classroom. Presentations will be delivered in a multimedia, interactive format.

The showcase is an opportunity for area residents to explore how our faculty promote a learning-centered environment for students. Participants will learn about how NWC faculty spark curiosity and prepare students to thrive in their chosen careers.

“Our first Paint the Campus Red event is going to be a great opportunity for those who want to come check out campus, have some fun and see everything Northwest College has to offer,” NWC President Stefani Hicswa said. “Much like our Paint the Town Red event each summer in downtown Powell, this will be another chance for the college and community to connect.”

Although Paint the Campus Red ends at 7 p.m. Friday, the excitement on campus continues the next day with this year’s annual Multicultural Showcase.

The smells, tastes, sights and sounds from countries around the world will fill the Trapper Room in the DeWitt Student Center from 1-3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 28. Entry to this event is free, and meal tickets can be purchased at the door.

The annual Multicultural Showcase offers homemade food samples from around the globe, live entertainment, a silent auction and colorful display of authentic collectibles from countries on nearly every continent.
