Northwest College

Academics at NWC

Your academics are the most important aspect of your experience at Northwest College. The Intercultural Programs staff will begin working with you on your academics starting the moment you are admitted into Northwest College.

Enrolling in Classes

You will be enrolled in classes your first semester before you arrive on campus. You will review your classes during the international student orientation. All students will be assigned a faculty adviser in their area of study and will meet with their adviser to plan their coursework beginning their 2nd semester. For more information on advisers and academic support see the NWC College Catalog.

All F-1 visa students are required to maintain full-time enrollment while at NWC. You must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester. The only exception is if you are in your final semester.

Placement Testing

All students at Northwest College take a math and English placement test. These test scores are used to place students in the correct level of English and math. International students must take this test at home, before they arrive to Northwest College.
