New Scholarship Will Honor Everyone's Favorite Trapper

For more than 25 years, Dave Fink has given his heart and soul — as well as countless nights and weekends — in unwavering service to Northwest College and the Trapper athletic teams, where his public persona blossoms at game time.

Now Fink will have the honor to present a new scholarship in his name.

The Trapper Dave Scholarship will be awarded to NWC student-athletes who have completed their freshman seasons and will return as sophomores the following academic term.

A minimum 2.5 GPA will be required as well as a history of the personality Trapper Dave himself exhibits in abundance: being a good teammate and hard worker and having excellent character, good humor, respect and affection for everyone they meet.

The scholarship will be awarded by Trapper Dave himself during NWC’s annual athletic recognition banquet in mid-April.

The Northwest College Foundation invites donors to chip in and help fund an endowment to launch the inaugural scholarship and then to keep it going and growing.

“We want this to be a substantial scholarship that can eventually transition into two scholarships that we can award to one male athlete and one female athlete each year,” reads information from Cory Ostermiller at the Foundation. “Of course, we would value your partnership at any level whether it be an annual donation or a one-time gift.”
