Online exams offered monthly at Northwestern
Northwestern College's division of Graduate & Continuing Education (GCE) offers DSST (DANTES) tests to earn college credit. The DSST credit-by-examination program has tests in more than 30 subject areas, including science, math, business, social sciences and the humanities. The subject matter reflects the kinds of things people might learn in nontraditional ways, such as on the job or through a hobby.

General Test Information

For each test, you will receive a fact sheet/study guide. This will give useful information regarding topics that will be covered, sample questions, books for review, the number of questions on the test, and the score recommended by the American Council of Education (ACE) for credit.

A maximum of one test may be taken during a Friday session, and two tests during a Saturday session. Tests are administered at Riley Hall in R1344 computer lab, which is located on campus. "Principles of Public Speaking" is administered by appointment only in the Northwestern Office Center , which is located a few blocks south of the main campus entrance.

Friday sessions begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m. Saturday sessions being promptly at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.  Proper ID must be shown for entry (i.e. Student ID card, Drivers License, Passport, etc.).

Registration Fee............................................. $20 per test

Registration fees are collected during online registration and are nonrefundable. Payment must be made using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). Exam cancelations are nonrefundable.

Test Fee............................................................ $80 per test

Test fees are collected on the test day, excluding "Principles of Public Speaking", which is collected during registration. Payment must be made using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). No personal checks or cash will be accepted.

Late Registration Fee............................................. $10 per test

Late registration fees are assessed if you are registering after the registration deadline. They are collected during online registration and are nonrefundable. Payment must be made using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). Exam cancelations are nonrefundable.
