Barbara J. Rogers

Barbara Rogers has performed widely throughout the United States and France. She previously taught at colleges and universities in California, Ohio, and New Jersey. Her scholarly interest is in art music by African-American composers and women composers, both historical and contemporary. Rogers is the author of The Works for Piano Solo and Piano with Other Instruments of Mary Carr Moore (1873–1957). She is an active freelance accompanist and a frequent presenter and adjudicator for local, state, and national musical organizations. She is an active composer with commissions as a regular part of her published professional life. She has also served as organist, choir director, or both, at churches in New York, California, New Jersey, and Minnesota.
