Student Opportunities

Study Abroad

• Spanish majors spend a Semester in Spain in Seville, Spain.
• Any student can study abroad in Costa Rica through the Latin American Studies Program sponsored by the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).

Campus and Co-curricular Activities

Students have several opportunities within the department on campus for co-curricular study and activities:

• Spanish Club
• Spanish Honor Society
• Modern Language Mentors
  Juniors and seniors volunteer to connect with freshman and sophomore-level majors in order to answer questions and facilitate discussion and study groups.
• ESL Tutoring
  Volunteer opportunities exist around the Twin Cities to assist ESL learners in both academics and life skills. Current organizations include World Relief, Somali Adult Literacy Training (SALT), and the Minnesota Literacy Council.
