I have taught at NWC for 15 years. In the past, I taught at Oakland University and Wayne State University. I also pastored a church for five years. I am currently the Executive Director of the Institute for Biblical Archaeology and the Secretary of the Near East Archaeological Society.

Books which have shaped who I am as an historian
There are too many books to list here, and I can’t limit myself to just one or two. But, the individual who had the greatest influence on me as a historian was a former professor of mine named Rembert Carter, whose Ph.D. was from the University of Edinburgh.
Advice I would give to college students:
Do not make a habit of skipping class. It is the greatest reason why students fail in college.
