Want to study economics and/or geography?
Economics courses appeal especially to students in history, business, and social studies education. Classes offered include two semesters of principles of macro- and micro- economics (ECO 2201 and ECO 2202), as well as a further, in-depth introduction to economic studies (ECO 2211 and ECO 2212).
Geography classes include Introduction to Geography (GEO 1005) and World Geography (GEO 1015). Geography classes equip students with a greater understanding of the world, its physical topography, human geography, and political and economic arrangements.
Are you interested in law?
The history department is a great place to prepare.
Many history majors also go to law school. The department offers effective preparation through its emphasis on critical reading and clear writing. History also allows for the examination of policy and results—important categories for legal argumentation.
History department alumni have gone to law school at Harvard University, the University of Minnesota, DePaul University, Hamline Law School, and William Mitchell College of Law.
