Health Insurance

All full-time traditional undergraduate students are required to carry health insurance. Evidence of insurance must be submitted to the college prior to or at registration.

A college-approved policy is available to students who are not participating in another plan. Insurance is administered by First Agency, 5071 West H. Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Students may sign up for this insurance on theROCK prior to or at registration.

Specific limitations for this coverage are listed in a brochure provided to each student and are available in the student accounts office in Riley Hall (R1420). Health claim forms for students enrolled in the college plan are also available in that office. Students are responsible to submit their claims to the insurance provider. Athletes have additional coverage through an athletic policy at no fee to the student.

In addition, as secondary coverage, the college provides accident insurance for all full-time students. This covers accidents that occur while attending classes or college-sponsored activities ($25 deductible, $2,000/occurrence). All full-time students are enrolled automatically at no additional charge. Students are responsible to submit their claims to their primary insurance first. E-mail the Student Accounts office at studentaccounts@nwc.edu if submission on a claim balance for secondary coverage is needed.
