September 8—The Denler Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its 18th Annual Juried Student Exhibition. The exhibition will run from September 9–23, with an opening reception will be held on Friday, September 9th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Awards for first, second and third prize will be announced during the reception. The event is free and open to the public.
This year's exhibit was juried by Ben Heywood, Executive Director of the Soap Factory, who selected the work of 23 Northwestern College students for inclusion in the show. Heywood has a renowned level of expertise in the world of arts. He studied at the University of Oxford and Courtauld Institute of Art in London, has served on the Minneapolis Arts Commission for four years and has increased programming, audience and revenue at the Soap Factory during his eight years there thus far.
The Soap Factory is widely respected for its dedication to emerging artists and supporting the cultural vitality of Minneapolis/St Paul and has been named by the Star Tribune as one of Minneapolis’ liveliest venues for untested talent.
