Cooperative Institutional Research Project

The Cooperative Institutional Research Project (CIRP) is a nationally normed standardized test measuring student background information and expectations for college.

College Student Survey

The College Student Survey (CSS) is an instrument developed by the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI), and is administered to graduating seniors in the spring of every other year. Responses are compared with the responses of graduates from other colleges participating in the Coalition for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) Comprehensive Assessment Project (CAP) and other Northwestern graduating classes.

Exiting Student Survey

Full-time students not completing a program but voluntarily not returning for fall semester, or leaving Northwestern College during the academic year, were asked to complete the Exiting Student Survey, soliciting their purpose for entering, re-enrollment plans, and reasons for leaving. The survey was given to non-returning and withdrawing students.

Resident Assistant Evaluation

The Resident Assistant Evaluation provides an annual report on the average effectiveness of Northwestern Resident Assistants.

Senior Survey

The Senior Survey is administered to both December and May graduates of any given academic year. The data gathered is used to compare the graduating senior class with previous senior classes where data is available. The items for the survey are selected by the Assessment Steering committee with input from a variety of campus offices and committees.
