Northwestern Orchestra receives international praise
June 7—The Northwestern College Orchestra received international kudos, via the French media, for their performances in France. The group recently returned from a tour to France and Switzerland visiting the following locations: Geneva, Switzerland; Nuits St. Georges, France; and Paris, France.
The performance at The Church of Saint Denis, in Nuits St. Georges, was credited as “magnificent” and “a high-quality orchestra,” among many other praises of admiration.
Under direction of David Kozamchak, the Orchestra performed music by composers such as Hovhaness, Williams, Copland, and Sousa, and featured Northwestern faculty member and renowned organist Leonard Danek. Read more about the 10-day tour via the group’s blog.
