Junior Dan Hazel featured in regional Broadway musical

Dan HazelJune 10—Dan Hazel, a junior at Northwestern, makes his Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT) debut as a member of the ensemble in the regional premiere of the hit Broadway musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The musical comedy debuts on Friday, June 10 and runs through June 26 at the Illusion Theater in Minneapolis.

Hazel graduated from Forest Lake Area High School in 2008, and is currently studying theatre at Northwestern. He has appeared at Masquers Community Theatre Company in Forest Lake and a number of Northwestern theatre productions.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers around two hapless con men trying to out-con each other as they attempt to swindle money from heiresses and tourists in the French Riviera. The show includes a series of humorous schemes and double crosses, great music and big dance numbers.

The show opened on Broadway in March 2005 to glowing reviews and was awarded 11 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT) is dedicated to providing community access to high quality, affordable works of musical theatre that have never or rarely been performed in the Twin Cities.
