Mar. 8—Northwestern alum Dr. James Beilby ’91 was recently selected as a one of eleven 2011 Christianity Today Book Award winners. The Historical Jesus: Five Views,co-edited by Beilby and  Paul R. Eddy, was recognized in the category of Biblical Studies.

Judging began with 427 submissions by 62 publishers. Winners were determined based on the books that best offered insights into the people, events, and ideas that shape evangelical life, thought, and mission.

The Historical Jesus: Five Views is a volume of essays with several perspectives from leading scholars including Robert M. Price, John Dominic Crossan, Luke Timothy Johnson, James D.G. Dunn, and Darrell L. Bock.

The book offers a unique forum of discussion around this popular topic of debate and is an engaging resource for discussion around the major positions on the historical Jesus.
