Northwestern College President Alan Cureton, Ph.D., has been invited to be the guest speaker for a National Day of Prayer event on May 6 at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minn. In his remarks, Cureton will focus on the role that prayer plays in the life of our country, community, schools and homes. The program includes a hot buffet breakfast, Cureton’s message, a time of corporate prayer and special music. The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The observance was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The focus of the 2010 National Day of Prayer is taken from Nahum 1:7, “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.” Wooddale's annual observance of the National Day of Prayer will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 6:45 a.m. at 6630 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie, Minn. Tickets are $10, on sale at www.wooddale.org, or call the Wooddale ticket desk at 952-656-1056. |
