After 19 years of service as Northwestern’s director of campus ministries, Dean Paulson has accepted a call as senior pastor of Kost Evangelical Free Church in North Branch, Minnesota. Paulson has served as interim pastor for the church for several months and will assume his full-time duties there in August.

Reflecting on his time at Northwestern, Paulson remarked, “The students that I have worked with over these 19 years have had these things in common: they have loved Christ and they have desired to grow in their love for Christ and service to Christ. This has made my ministry a great joy.” He added, “‘Welcome to chapel’ has become such a part of my vocabulary that I almost say it at church sometimes on Sunday mornings!”

Even though his tenure as Director of Campus Ministries will end this summer, Paulson plans to return in the fall to address the students in chapel and say farewell. He also hopes to maintain a connection to Northwestern as an adjunct faculty member.
