Nov. 23—The 2010 college Christmas card, sent by Dr. Alan and Mrs. Gayle Cureton on behalf of the college, features original art by Rebekah Johnson, a sophomore art education major from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Johnson’s work was selected from among several student submissions in Northwestern’s first Christmas art contest. The watercolor, “Star of Wonder,” depicts a hillside scene of ancient Bethlehem with the star shining brightly above the city.

The Office of Marketing & Communications design team that created the actual card presented Johnson with a certificate of appreciation, an honorarium check and a miniature Christmas tree to celebrate her selection as this year’s art contest winner.
