Nestled among the trees and surrounded by a mile of lake shore, Northwestern’s 107-acre campus provides an excellent setting for learning and growing.

The architecture of the campus—Nazareth Hall (1921), Riley Hall (1961), Totino Fine Arts Center (1982), Berntsen Library (1992), the Ericksen Center (1996), the Mel Johnson Media Center (2003), and the Billy Graham Community Life Commons (2011)—ranges from Romanesque to Modern.

Nazareth Hall is the main building, housing administrative and faculty offices, classrooms, science laboratories and the chapel.

Riley Hall serves as the primary administrative building, also housing the Office of the President in addition to numerous classrooms and two computer labs.

The Totino Fine Arts Center is the home of the art and music departments and Maranatha Hall, a 1,390-seat facility with full proscenium stage. Major performances of all types utilize the auditorium to capacity. The fine arts wing houses art studios, the Denler Art Gallery, choral and instrumental practice areas and faculty offices.

The Berntsen Library offers much more than just a collection of books. On the forefront of technology, the library provides a computerized catalog, electronic periodical indexes, full-text electronic resources, and access to the Internet. It also contains specialized curricular collections, microfilm and photocopy facilities, listening and viewing areas, and group study rooms.

The Ericksen Center houses a gymnasium with a regulation basketball court and bleacher seating for more than 1,200 surrounded by an elevated jogging surface. With bleachers retracted, the gymnasium converts into two sections, each containing a full-size basketball practice court. This modern facility also contains two racquetball courts, athletic training room, fitness center, locker rooms, two classrooms, multipurpose video room, and faculty/athletic department offices.

Residence halls include Knutson, Hartill and Moyer (main campus); South Campus Residence (across Lydia Ave.); Southeast, Snelling Terrace and Antioch (across Snelling Ave.)—and the Robertson Student Center. Residence rooms offer comfort, security and privacy for all students. In the Student Center students can gather in lounges, study areas, game rooms, laundry facilities and the Eagle’s Nest café.

The Mel Johnson Media Center, located at the corner of Lydia and Snelling just outside the campus entrance, is the headquarters for Northwestern Media, KTIS and student media. The academic department of communication is also located in this state-of-the-art building.

The Billy Graham Community Life Commons, Northwestern's newest building, functions as the campus’ “living room.” It houses dining facilities, the mail center, campus store, prayer and community rooms, the Office of Student Development, the Leadership Center, student government and more.
