Susan E. Johnson

Prior to coming to Northwestern, Susan Johnson taught in several public and private elementary schools including the International School of Islamabad, Pakistan. She has more than 25 years of experience working in the fields of mathematics education and teacher education and has served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching courses in mathematics education at both the University of Minnesota and Bethel University. Her professional involvements at Northwestern College have included teaching courses in mathematics education, supervising student teachers, developing new teacher education curricula and providing leadership in teacher education assessment and accreditation.

Johnson has made refereed presentations in the fields of mathematics education and teacher education at both the state and national levels. Her professional leadership positions have included vice-president for mathematics education with the Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) and private college representative to the executive committee of the Minnesota Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE). She continues to serve on the professional concerns committee of the Minnesota Council of Teachers of Mathematics and on the Measures of Teacher Quality in Minnesota (MTQM) project committee with the Minnesota Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
