Timothy Kowalik

Professor of Communication

As an educator with over 30 years of experience, Tim has had the opportunity to teach a wide level of students (K-12, college, adult) and a variety of communication related subjects. He has taught in the Communication Department at NWC since 1991. Prior to coming to NWC, he was a high school English and speech teacher/coach. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.

In addition to teaching at NWC, Tim served as Associate Dean of Continuing Education/Director of FOCUS for three years. Now, he is back teaching fulltime in the classroom, both in the traditional undergraduate program and the FOCUS program.

He has taught internationally at the Russian-American Christian University (RACU) in Moscow, Russia on three separate occasions and has led student mission groups to the Ukraine and Mexico. In addition to teaching, he enjoys traveling across America on his BMW motorcycle and being involved in ministry opportunities with the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He also sings in two choirs: the Two Rivers Chorale and Evangelion.
