Internships

Christian Ministries Internships

The intercultural studies (ICS) major has its own internship program with an 8-week overseas missions experience led by NWC faculty, in which students visit a variety of ministries, cultures, countries and religious groups.

The urban studies major also has its own internship involving living downtown in Minneapolis while attending classes. The Christian Ministries Department is excited to make this inner city concentration available to students. Like the ICS major, it has its own specific internship built into the program.

The other five ministry majors also require internships. Most often they are done locally in churches and parachurch ministries, but during the summer our students are involved all over the United States and, sometimes, the world.

Internship Providers

If you are interested in having a Northwestern College Christian Ministries student intern come to work at your church or ministry, please contact the internship coordinator, Mary Hawley, at mahawley@nwc.edu.

You may also post opportunities online with the Center for Calling & Career to make them available to the greater Northwestern College community and to alumni. For more information, e-mail Diann Lloyd-Dennis at dllloyd-dennis@nwc.edu.

Note: We do not place interns; rather, we assist students in finding and choosing appropriate internship sites.
