The Business major is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers in for-profit firms or nonprofit organizations. Graduates with Business majors frequently join small companies or return to manage family businesses. This program is the most flexible of our business majors. Students may follow a well-balanced program in business administration, or they may modify the course of study to pursue particular areas of interest. Previously, students have studied Agri-business, Supply Chain Management, and Human Resource Management.. The degree is granted upon completion of 133 credits (40 credits must be in 3000–or 4000-level courses).
What will I study?
Business majors study broad areas of business such as accounting, management, entrepreneurship, finance, corporate strategies, marketing, business information systems, business law and economics. Many business classes take a case study approach that involves a less structured classroom environment utilizing small groups and discussion.
Business students are regularly exposed to interesting resources, literature and business professionals in the field. The department keeps up with current trends and advancements in business while maintaining its roots in more traditional areas, allowing for a well-rounded education.
