I was not a person that always knew I would end up at Northwestern College. Before my senior year in high school, I didn’t even consider the possibility. The interesting thing was that God revealed Northwestern to me through a few people, in different encounters. There was one person in particular that really had an impact on my enrollment - my incredible NWC Admissions Counselor at the time, TK, who was like an older sister and mentor to me. TK not only answered all my questions about college but cared about me as an individual. She even came to my HS graduation party! As I visited over eight different campuses and after careful consideration of six different colleges/universities within Minnesota, it seemed clear that God lead me to Northwestern. I found the most remarkable, personable people like my Admissions Counselor – those who loved students and reflected Christ-centered values. In addition, having not been raised in a Christian home, I had a desire to grow in my faith and knew Northwestern was fitting as a biblically grounded academic institution.

While studying international business at NWC, I grew to love the community of students, faculty, and others on campus. I don't know where to start when it comes to the many fond memories I had as an undergraduate student. From my involvement with REDOC (now C-Grace) and the Antioch Community to Student Ministries to the Student Yearbook, taking part in each has been a delight to me.  I found it enlightening to work with different people in different settings. It was always neat to see the Lord manifest Himself through the classroom, in daily chapel, as well as in the extracurricular activities.

I credit Northwestern for God using it to challenge me in deepening my faith and in growing in my understanding of Christ. It was the Lord using my professors, my peers, and my environment to dig deeper in my relationship and knowledge of Him. During my years at NWC, I have truly learned what it means to be a follower of Christ and to see the world through biblical lenses. Today, I remain equipped, impacted with the truth and with the light of Christ leading me on His journey.
