After a series of foundational core courses, you will select one of these areas of concentrated study:
BIBLE EXPOSITION
The Bible exposition concentration is for individuals who desire to study the Word of God at a deeper level, presenting an expository study of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
BIBLICAL STUDIES
The biblical studies concentration is designed for students who plan to use the biblical languages (Hebrew and Greek) in their ministries.
THEOLOGY
The theology concentration includes study of systematic theology, apologetics and ethics. If you're considering further theological studies toward your M.Div. or at the doctorate level, the theology concentration provides and excellent foundation.

A master's in theology is suitable for Christians who would like to increase their biblical knowledge and apply a Christian worldview to their professions. The theology master's degree provides a foundation for educational advancement and professional development for lay ministers, vocational ministers and teachers.
Advanced course placement
Students entering the MATS program may be given advanced course placement credit for courses taken in Bible, biblical languages, theology, church history, or ministry, from Northwestern College or other accredited institutions. If you earned a grade of "B" or better in approved courses, a maximum of 9 credits may be applied toward the MATS program. Ask your admission counselor for details.
Course of study
The Master of Arts in Theological Studies is granted upon completion of 36 credits and you can earn your degree in approximately 18–22 months.
