Often, a student receives notice their FAFSA has been selected by the Department of Education for a process called Verification and additional tax return income information is requested. A signed NWC Verification Worksheet along with your and your parents' (of dependent student) or spouse's Federal tax information, W2's, or other documents may be requested to verify your income information.
If selected for Verification, please complete, sign, and return all requested documents promptly. Your financial aid award cannot be determined until the signed verification documents are received and processed.
The Department of Education gives us limited authority to make adjustments to a student's eligibility when circumstances arise that are out of the control of the student or parent (of dependent students). If a student or parent feels that they have an appealable situation, the appropriate form should be completed and returned to the Financial Aid Office.
