    Criminal Justice

The criminal justice major allows students to choose between two tracks:

    • Criminal justice
    • Law enforcement

Our program is now POST Certified (Police Officer Standards and Training) after receiving provisional approval by the board this past April. Students who complete coursework through Northwestern College are now approved for the academic component of the Professional Peace Officer Education (PPOE).

Our professors are former or current practitioners who provide opportunities for students to build professional contacts and explore areas of interest in criminal justice.

Beyond the classroom, criminal justice students will be able to intern at a number of prestigious and well-known organizations.

The criminal justice internship class collaborates with federal, state, county and local agencies to provide hands-on training and experience. Check out the places our current, and former, students have interned.
