The criminal justice major allows students to choose between two tracks:
Criminal justice
Law enforcement
Our program is now POST Certified (Police Officer Standards and Training) after receiving provisional approval by the board this past April. Students who complete coursework through Northwestern College are now approved for the academic component of the Professional Peace Officer Education (PPOE).
Our professors are former or current practitioners who provide opportunities for students to build professional contacts and explore areas of interest in criminal justice.
Beyond the classroom, criminal justice students will be able to intern at a number of prestigious and well-known organizations.
“I want to go into a profession that actively involves helping people solve their problems or resolve conflict in difficult issues. I plan to work in criminal corrections as a probation officer and be highly involved in my local church and in prison ministry.”
