A new school year, a fresh start.

Fall, more than any other time, makes me feel like I'm beginning anew. This fall at the Academy we have four opportunities to begin something new:

• In addition to the thriving Youth Choir (ages 8–13) that we've offered for many years, we're excited to now offer a teen choir for the older vocal student (ages 14–18). Doreen Hutchings, NWC vocal music faculty member, will direct the Resounding Praise Teen Choir.
• Mary Lee, NWC graduate and piano and percussion teacher with the Academy, will offer a Percussion Ensemble that combines fun performance and ensemble experience for percussionists.
• Wes Ruelle and Jacob Staron, who started the Academy's excellent Jazz Improv class last year, will begin a Rock n' Blues class this fall for instrumentalists with a rock and roll interest.
• We are especially excited to be offering Early Childhood Musikgarten classes through the Academy. Marlene Lee and Michelle Thompson, who have taught early childhood classes for 19 years, will be teaching three Kinderstudio of Musik classes for ages 0–6 on Saturday mornings.

Maybe one of these new groups is just the fresh start that will excite and renew your love and interest in music.
