Jazz Improvisational Camp | June 18-22

Improvisation is the art of playing melodies, harmonies, and rhythms spontaneously. It used to be common for all musicians to improvise but in the last 80 years or so it has been associated with jazz. Improvising in a group is like the conversations that we have everyday with each other. Once we have learned the basics of language we are able to "improvise" a conversation. This class will teach you how to use the "basic vocabulary" that you already possess to begin to improvise on your instrument. Classes will begin at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m.
