NWC volleyball player named All-American

Northwest College sophomore Ana Jakovljevic was named a 2013 NJCAA Division I Volleyball All-American on Thursday.

The outside hitter from Valvejo, Serbia, was fourth in the nation with 5.6 points per set, sixth in the nation with 4.5 kills per set and second with .89 aces per set. Her 531 total kills ranked 10th and her 169 errors was the seventh-lowest total among players ranked in the top 25 in kills.

Jakovljevic’s 664.7 total points more than doubled the totalof any other Trapper and her 287 digs were the second-most on the team.

She was held to less than 10 total points in just four of the 38 matches she played. In three of those four matches she played only two sets.

Jakovljevic received a fullride scholarship from Eastern Washington University and will play for the school’s volleyball team. The Eagles are a Division I school and a member of the Big Sky Conference.
