The internship experience is broken into three credit-bearing courses, AGRI 1970 - Spring Farm Internship (2 cr), AGRI 1970 - Fall Farm Internship (2 cr), and AGRI 1980 - Cooperative Education (5 cr). The arrangement of these credit hours allows a student to choose to follow a season of production with a single producer from the Spring through the Summer and into the Fall. Alternatively, the student might arrange the internships from Fall to Winter to Spring, which may be a better fit to livestock production in the area.
One of our internship sites is Common Ground Farms located at the base of Heart Mountain, a 15 minute drive from our campus. The video above shows the setting of our agricultural region, and shares a little bit about the production at Common Ground.
