Special Programs

Northwest College runs numerous programs that work closely with the Outdoor Education Program and Recreation Equipment Co-Op. Information on these programs is provided below. If you have questions about how to participate in one of these programs, please contact us.

NWC Climbing Wall

The Northwest College Recreation Equipment Co-Op operates a full-service rock climbing wall for students, faculty, and staff. The climbing wall features vertical and overhanging routes for climbers to practice their technique, hone their skills, and obtain a great workout! Harnesses, climbing shoes, chalk bags, and ropes are available through the Recreation Equipment CO-OP.

The climbing wall is open during all Recreation Equipment CO-OP hours, excluding those when team sports are practicing in the Cabre Gymnasium.

DELTA

DELTA is an acronym which stands for “Dedicated to Experiential Learning Through Adventure.” This program is a vehicle for delivering adventure education services to the college community and to the public.

Experiential Education is a tradition here at Northwest College. More than twenty five years ago our students began learning how to backpack, rock climb and explore caves. Trips to the Desert Southwest, Yellowstone National Park and other spectacular areas added excitement to the program and gave it distinction. To date more than 3,000 students have entered the world of adventure education through credit courses, workshops, facilitated challenge course activities and expeditions offered at Northwest College.
