Farmers of all sizes are currently facing shifts in their markets and the need to quantify the practices they conduct on farm that insures they produce safe food. My presentation will review the key elements of food safety practices for farmers who wish to develop an on farm food safety plan. This plan can be the ticket to new market opportunities.

Food HUBs, Cooperatives and Group GAP-GHP

There is an exciting new opportunity for small producers to band together and meet the increasing need to quantify their on farm food safety practices. Group GAP Quality Management Systems is a pilot project of the Wallace Center and USDA AMS.  There are presently six pilot projects in the nation who are working together in a learning community to develop Group GAP QMS for their Food HUBS. I will share our progress and learning.
