Slew of workforce training classes begin in April in Cody

POWELL, Wyo. - From CPR and customer service to miner training and QuickBooks, the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development is covering it with a class during the month of April.

The lineup begins Monday, April 19, with a two-part Customer Service class, which is a component of the ongoing Food and Hospitality Program. The four-hour classes meet April 19 and 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Terrace. Lynn Lampe is the instructor.

A Basic Life Support CPR course for Health Care Providers meets from 6:30-9 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Cody Center. Taught by Geoff Hovivian, the course costs $25 per person.

Tim Warren will conduct MSHA-Part 46 and 48 New Miner Training Tuesday through Thursday, April 20-22. The class meets from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cody Center. Cost is $154. Warren is back Friday, April 23, to teach the MSHA-Part 46 and 48 Annual Refresher from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost is $65. Registration deadlines are Thursday, April 15, for the new miner training and Monday, April 19, for the refresher training.

A QuickBooks-Introduction class meets Fridays, April 30 and May 7, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cody Center. Jan Kraft, the instructor, will cover everyday and special transactions, tips and tricks, reports, getting a company started and understanding accounting. Cost is $135 and includes a comprehensive manual. The registration deadline is Wednesday, April 28.
