POWELL, Wyo. - Joe Asay, a Worland CPA, will conduct a QuickBooks 2009 training on Mondays and Thursdays, Nov. 30-Dec. 10, at the Worland Community Center Complex.

Asay's "Introduction to QuickBooks 2009" course meets from 6-9 p.m. to help participants master the fundamentals without wasting time through trial-and-error learning. He'll cover accounting principles and application in QuickBooks software, starting a set of company books, reports, tips and tricks, and special transactions as well as everyday transactions that involve selling, buying, inventory, sales tax and banking. Time will be devoted during the final class session to review and respond to participants' individual situations and questions.

Asay said QuickBooks proficiency, which is in high demand by local employers and cottage industries alike, can open doors for job applicants and for those seeking promotions or pay raises in their current jobs. This class also carries Professional Teaching Standards Board credit.

Some prior exposure to QuickBooks is recommended.
