POWELL, Wyo. - Northwest College continues to support American military personnel with free admission to qualifying cultural and athletic events.

“The NWC Board of Trustees wants to show the college’s support for our service men and women in a tangible way,” said Board President Mark Westerhold of Cody. “We already offer specialized help for our veteran students, but this reaches beyond that to touch any person with current or previous military service, regardless of their status in relationship to the college.”

Military Free Admission Cards for all United States military personnel — veterans, active duty and reservists — are available at the NWC Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, located in Room 104 of the Orendorff Building. The cards do not expire but must be obtained in advance of an event.

Along with name, mailing address and phone number, military personnel must also show proof of their current military or veteran status in order to obtain a card. This can be done with a veteran’s service organization membership card, VA health care identification card, active/retired military identification card, DD Form 214 or military documentation. The Military Free Admission Card is nontransferable.

The card is good only for events that are 100 percent sponsored by Northwest College. Credit and noncredit classes, including workforce training, do not qualify. Student-sponsored events and student fundraising events also do not qualify.
